When do your services begin after birth?
At any point that you desire. We require at least 24-hour's notice to arrange childcare.
What is your experience in breastfeeding support?
We have successfully nursed our own children for many years each, and have counseled many clients and friends in their own breastfeeding journeys. We have also taken breastfeeding education classes. For complex nursing issues, we recommend contacting Theresa Hardy.
Are you certified as a postpartum doula?
While we are certified as a birth doulas, we chose not to become certified as a postpartum doulas.
Can you provide any postpartum medical care?
No. Any medical care must be provided by your medical care provider.
So you have a baby. Now what?
Navigating through those first few days after bringing home your baby is anything but easy! Even if it's not your first child, bringing home a new baby means your routines change, your time is spread thinner, and you have to figure out how to juggle housework, jobs, cooking, and family time, let alone caring for the new little one in your house. A c-section, or other complications during birth can make things even more difficult emotionally or physically.
Many parents find they need more help than they had planned on in those first few weeks. A postpartum doula can help ease the burden. Postpartum doulas assist families who are bringing home a new baby, whether that is through birth or adoption.
Postpartum services are highly customizable. Ideally, we will meet with you and your family prenatally to determine what needs we may be able to meet. The following is just an example of ways we may be able to serve you and your family.

A prenatal meeting is provided at no cost to you. After baby is born, services are provided an hourly rate of $35.00. A minimum of 3 hours is preferred, though we am happy to work with you to determine what will work best for you and your family.
What are your parenting philosophies?
Generally speaking, we are supportive of attachment parenting and mindful/respectful parenting philosophies, though we understand and support the idea that every family needs to do what works for them.
Do you provide overnight care?
Yes, we do. Please contact us to find out more about overnight services.
Do you support moms who do not breastfeed?
While we do believe that breastmilk is the best option for baby, we understand that some people choose not to breastfeed, or can't for various reasons. We believe every person has to make the choice that is right for them, and we support that decision!
