Jill got her start into the birth world when she was in college, and a friend gave her a book about natural fertility. Jill was astonished at the information that she had never been taught about her own body, and she started telling everyone she knew about it. Once she started learning about natural fertility, she fell down the rabbit hole and began gobbling up any and all information she could about natural pregnancy and childbirth, too.
After graduating from the University of Illinois in 2008 with a BS in Speech and Hearing Sciences, Jill knew she didn't want to pursue that field. Instead, she started down a different path to become a nurse-midwife. Just before entering the nursing program, Jill realized that eventually being able to stay at home with her kids would be more important to her than a career in midwifery. She decided to take the best of both worlds, and become a doula, where she could stay home with her kids, and support women and their families through their births. Before ever having kids of her own, Jill completed the DONA International Birth Doula Training in 2010, and became certified as a birth doula.
After starting her own family, Jill realized the huge lack in support that most postpartum women have, and decided to add postpartum services to her menu. She is also well-versed in babywearing, and is happy to help with babywearing education, as well.
When she isn't playing with or homeschooling her 3 kids, Jill enjoys running, cycling, reading cooking magazines, eating good food, and drinking great coffee.
No matter where you currently find yourself in life, in birth, in babies...it would be Jill's humble pleasure to serve you and your family however she is able. Jill serves clients in East-Central Illinois, including Champaign, Urbana, and the surrounding communities.
